Anna Heymowska

Anna Heymowska is an artist and scenographer based in Stockholm. She explores the interconnectedness of natural phenomena, sensuousness, and human experience through various disciplines, including visual arts, stage design, and conceptual art. Her work often combines elements of fragility, transformation, and the passage of time, encouraging viewers to reflect on their place in the world and the forces that shape their existence. Vulnerability and illness an the possiblities that arise from restriction is also a recurring thematic. Heymowska’s artistic practice is characterized by her attention to materials and processes that highlight the tension between creation and destruction. She has a long experience with large scale and site-specific formats and her work often combine both conceptual, performative and perceptual elements. She has studied at The Royal Institute of Art (Mejan) in Stockholm and Royal Danish Academy and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Uniarts. 

The Ph.D. project ”Artifical Nature” explore contemporary representation of natural phenomena and landscape in art and theatre. Since 2008 she is a recurring collaborator of the artist duo Goldin+Senneby. As a tutor and lecturer on BA and MA level, she engages in encouraging dialogue and offers specific lectures on artistic method, collaboration and scenography as a temporal art form.
